In Loving Memory of Christina Valvano Fisher.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Christina Valvano Fisher who passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on May 13, 2026.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, she graduated from John Adams High School in 1981. As a child, she was a ballerina at age five, played softball throughout her school years, and developed a lifelong love of handball. Shortly after graduation, she married on July 2, 1981, beginning the next chapter of her life centered around family and caring for others.

She is survived by her loving children, Gina Marie Cuomo and Robert Anthony Cuomo, and by the two people who brought her the greatest joy in life, her beloved grandchildren, Eloise Kelley Cuomo and Amelia Sue Cuomo. Anyone who knew her knew that her grandchildren were her whole world. She spoke about them constantly, celebrated every milestone, and treasured every moment she spent with them.

She is also survived by her mother, Amelia Valvano; her brothers, Joey Valvano, Michael Valvano, James Valvano, and Edward Valvano; her sister, Toni Gerig; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

For many years, she devoted her life to working with children. Whether in a Montessori classroom or as a nanny, she found purpose and happiness in helping young people learn, grow, create, and explore. She was endlessly patient and loving, always ready with a craft project, a science experiment, a game, or a smile. Generations of children benefited from her kindness and care.

She was a devoted fan of the New York Mets, rarely missing a game and faithfully following the team through every season. She also enjoyed General Hospital, playing handball, and spending sunny days outdoors—something her family affectionately described as her love of "sun worshipping."

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tim Fisher. Their love endured through the years, and there is comfort in knowing they are together once again.

Those who knew her will remember her warm heart, her sense of humor, her dedication to children, her loyalty to family, and the unconditional love she gave to the people fortunate enough to be part of her life.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years we shared with her and for the countless memories she leaves behind. Her love lives on in her children, her grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

Christina's Celebration Of Life will be held on August 9th at the Holopaw Community Center in St. Cloud Florida.
