Obituary

Danny Carl Johnson died at home surrounded by loved ones on October 5th 2025. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, sister, beloved wife, Mary and grandson, Travis. He is survived by two brothers, Michael and Joel (and respective families), children Jenny (Christopher) Moore, Adam (Kezia) Johnson, Jill (Christopher) Dixon, Tracey (Jerry) Coffman, and Homer (Athena) Black, sixteen grandchildren (Sarah/Thomas, Kali, Kára, Christopher, Daniel, Faith/Andy, Raven, Keith, Haley, Zephaniah/Jhoy, AC, Mason, Madison) and a number of great-grandchildren.

Danny was extremely proud to have received training as a medic during his time in the Army, after which he went on to become a civilian nurse. He worked in the medical field for 40 years, finishing up his career at the VA in Asheville, North Carolina. Danny completed continuing education courses and kept his nursing license active and current until he was 70 years old.

Danny loved pinball, football, shooting pool, casinos and driving and working on MG convertibles.

More than any of his hobbies though, Danny loved music. He was listening to some of his favorites when he passed. He was always singing funny songs and making up tunes. He was an avid songwriter and loved to sing. He took piano and guitar lessons and worked toward learning to write music. He instilled his love of music in all of his children, who've passed it on to their children and who will continue to pass it on infinitely.

Above all Danny was a consummate family man and his family meant everything to him. Today his Living Legacy is flourishing thanks to his lifetime of sacrifice, his neverending love, and his unwaivering friendship.

Danny's Celebration of Life will be November 22nd at noon at Chapel and Celler in Winter Park. Immediately to follow will be a more relaxed private reception at Casselberry's Patio Bar and Lounge with a live band and food per his request.
