Frances Luella Van Dine
July 31, 1928 – July 22, 2026
Frances Luella Van Dine, 97, of the Orlando area, passed away on July 22, 2026. Born on July
31, 1928, in Allegan, Michigan, to Frank and Gertie Cobb, Frances lived a long and faithful life
devoted to her family and her Lord.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Van Dine; her parents, Frank and
Gertie Cobb; and her siblings, Estelle, Maude, Myrtle, Homer, and Lillian.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Odom (Arnie); grandchildren Kristi Madovoy (Josh),
Elizabeth Gottschalk (Dane), Devin Odom, and Cody Odom; great-grandchildren James,
Royce, Mathew, Landen, Maci, Jett, and Maverick; nephew Kenny Church (Angie); nieces
Penny Cobb (Bret) and Barbara Strickfaden; and numerous other nieces and nephews who
loved her dearly.
Frances faithfully served the Lord at 1st Baptist Church of Interlachen for more than 30 years
before moving to the Orlando area in 2015. Her faith was the anchor of her life, and it showed
in everything she did.
Kind-hearted and generous to a fault, Frances loved her family more than anything and always
found a way to help, no matter the need. She doted endlessly on her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, and their joy was her joy. There are not enough words to describe what
Frances truly meant to her family. She will be forever missed and forever loved.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate her life.
