Helen E. Moran (Shaffery), 98, passed away September 4 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Newark, NJ on July 17, 1925. She moved to Keansburg, NJ at an early age, then she and her husband moved their family to Toms River, NJ.  She and her husband retired to St. Cloud, FL in 1979.  She is preceded in death by her parents John C. and Gladys (Siler) Shaffery, her brothers Johnnie and Paul Shaffery, and her husband Vincent H. and son Vincent P. Moran. She is survived by her daughters Carol Bertalan, Gladys Kittell, Betty Unger all of Toms River, NJ and Suzette Moran-Hall of St. Cloud, FL, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and active lifetime member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW). She volunteered at several positions for the church, including working at their Thrift Store. She was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3227 in St. Cloud, and an active member of the Golden Girls Awareness Group.  She worked retail for over 40 years in NJ then for TG & Y when she moved to St Cloud.  She lived for and loved her family.

VISITATION WILL BE SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2023 FROM 12:00PM - 3:00PM AT NEW HORIZON FUNERAL CHAPEL.

Interment to be held in New Jersey at a later date.
