Jack Edward Poorman, 79, of Kissimmee, Florida, joined his Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, May 13, 2024.

Jack was born on Saturday, December 30, 1944 to John and Evelyn Poorman in Marion, Indiana. Jack worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Manufacturing until his retirement in the late 90s.

He met the love of his life, Sharon Rose Harter, and they quickly fell in love and were married in 1978. They welcomed their daughter, Jackie, in 1979 and later moved with their other children, Connie and Mark, to Liverpool, New York.

Always loving and fair, Jack Poorman was admired as an honorable man by all who knew him. He enjoyed working with his hands and spending time outdoors. He loved to garden with his wife in upstate New York and was often found woodworking in his workshop. In addition, he loved to hunt and fish.

In April 2001, Jack and Sharon moved to Kissimmee, Florida where they enjoyed their retirement together. Jack would take Sharon out on the lakes and they enjoyed going deep sea-fishing together off the coast of Florida. They often got together with their family and enjoyed many cookouts and volleyball matches in their pool. In his later years, Jack developed a deep fondness for cooking.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Poorman, sister, Gloria Jean Cain, and son, Mark Flanagan. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Poorman, daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Tim Bergholtz, grandchildren , Adrienne, Andrew, and Avery Bergholtz, daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Antti Kurronen, granddaughter and her husband, Farrah and Russell Gibson, and his brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Judy Poorman.

Jack was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Above all, he loved his wife--who was his Rosie and his Magnolia--as well as his children and grandchildren until his dying day. There will be a service at First Baptist Poinciana on Sunday, May 19th at 3pm in his honor. He will be greatly missed.
