Jewel Eva James, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Solaris
HealthCare of Osceola County in St. Cloud, Florida.
Born on October 15, 1944, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Jewel was a cherished mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her kind heart and deep
love for her family.
Jewel was preceded in death by her son, Terry Lovins, her mother, Johnnie Mae Pruitt, and her
father, Alex Hampton James.
She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Betty Garcia and Sharon Lindsey, her 11 brothers
and sisters, 8 grandchildren, and extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Jewel found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved drawing, sewing, and fishing, and she will
be remembered for the warmth she shared, the love she gave, and the special memories she
created with those around her.
Jewel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
