Karl Gerhard Allen
St. Cloud, Florida
8/27/1945 - 9/20/2026
Karl Gerhard Allen, 81, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away surrounded by the love of a family who will miss him more than words can express.
Born on Long Island, New York, Karl was the son of the late Axel Gerhard Allen and Annemarie Allen. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Stephanie, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Karl and Stephanie recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary surrounded by their family—a beautiful milestone in a life they built together.
Karl was the proud father of three children: Michael and his wife, Deanna; Heather and her husband, Michael Barrett; and Timothy and his wife, Christine. He was also a beloved grandfather to Michael, Kyle, Joseph, Angelina, Josiah, and Sadie.
A true jack of all trades, Karl could seemingly do just about anything. He spent part of his working life working as an airplane mechanic, but many people will remember him as an exceptionally talented house painter, a skill he shared with his father.
If there was one place Karl was truly at home, though, it was on the water. He grew up fishing the Florida lakes, and fishing remained one of the great loves of his life. He shared that love with his children and grandchildren. He especially wanted Stephanie by his side, continually finding ways to make their dock easier to access and his boat shaded and comfortable so that she could enjoy fishing with him.
Karl was also a fisherman in another great tradition: the fish sometimes grew a little larger with every telling of the story. His wonderfully embellished fishing tales were part of his sense of humor and part of what made being around him so much fun.
With all of that said, Karl’s greatest love was for his Father and his Lord Jesus Christ. In 2008 he was ordained a pastor in Resurrection Life Center. His love for God was reflected in everything he did because that was his true life and the power of his great love for everyone.
Perhaps what people will remember most was Karl’s kindness. He could talk and laugh with just about anyone, and he made people feel welcome simply by being himself. He was deeply loving, endlessly kind, and very loved in return.
Karl will be deeply missed by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his extended family, his friends, and the countless people who were fortunate enough to share a conversation, a laugh, or perhaps a slightly exaggerated fishing story with Karl.
Celebration of Life Service will be on 11/7/26.
