Karlton Edward Anderson

Karlton Edward Anderson, December 29, 1963 - August 8, 2026

Karlton Edward Anderson, known to family and friends as Karl, passed away peacefully on August 8th at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida.  He was 62 years old.

While attending high school, Karl worked at Walt Disney World, where he brought the Magic Kingdom to life from behind the scenes — at the Haunted Mansion, as a Steam Wheeler Captain in Liberty Square, and aboard the Magic Kingdom Ferry and resort launches. It was fitting work for a young man who already had saltwater in his blood; Karl's love of sailing began in childhood and stayed with him for the rest of his life. He would later spend several years living on a houseboat, embracing all things nautical. Karl graduated from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida, in 1982.

Beyond his art, Karl was known for his incredible sense of humor — he was never short of a witty remark and had a gift for making people laugh. He was also brilliant at trivia, and watched Jeopardy! every night without fail. Karl made a point of calling his mother during Final Jeopardy each evening, the two of them comparing notes to see who had gotten it right.
