Laura R. Prather, Age 76 of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away at home with her family surrounding her, when Jesus called her to her eternal home in Heaven.

Laura was born in St. Cloud, Florida in 1949 to Joseph Johns and Ruby King Johns.

Laura was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 28 years. She cared deeply for her patients and their families. She loved flowers of every type and gardening. She was an excellent southern cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and gatherings. She absolutely loved Gospel, Bluegrass and ‘old’ country music. She made sacrifices for her family, especially her sons, Robert and Carl, as they grew up. She loved and forgave without fail. If you knew Laura, you knew what a loving, caring and devoted person she was.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank R. Prather, Jr. “Bo” on July 7, 2023; Siblings Ruby Haney, Hardy Johns, Joseph Johns, Muriel Emmons, Marion Johns and Russell Johns.

Laura is survived by her sons, Robert P. Prather, (Jan), Carl O. Prather, sister Janet Barber (Larry), brother Johnny Johns (Fran), grandchildren Austin Prather (Sara), Kailey Lawyer (Ryan), Step-grandchildren Brandi and Chris Miller and Thomas and Curtis Colombrito. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the St. Cloud Church of God, 521 Dakota Avenue, St. Cloud, Florida on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Ronnie Combs leading the service. Internment will be conducted at a later date.
