Martha Eleanor MacLeod, 87, of St. Cloud passed away August 15th surrounded by her family.  Born in Boston to the late Gertrude and Almon Simone, she was one of nine children.  Later, the family would relocate to Westchester, Ohio.  Known as Ellie to her friends and family, she would meet her future husband Bernard MacLeod on a return visit to Boston.  Together they started a family and through the years also welcomed many foster children into their home.  Ellie enjoyed many summers at the beach, lakes and mountains of New Hampshire, and looked forward to trips visiting her family in Ohio.  Together they opened a business in Massachusetts and after retirement, they both moved to Wilmington, N.C. and later, St. Cloud.  Ellie was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, participating in activities and donating her time wherever needed.  She volunteered in the local nursing home, delivering meals for the elderly while enjoying her visits with the residents.  An avid reader, Ellie would always have a book in hand and never missing a game of cards with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, her parents, and siblings Helen, Marilyn, Janet, Priscilla and her brother Robert.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Habedank, brothers Richard and Steven Simone, her children, Rachel MacLeod, Lisa Boilard and Lori MacLeod-Brown, grandchildren James, Timothy, Stephanie, Amber and Lindsey and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Cloud on September 23rd at 11am.  Another Service will be held at St. Stanislaus in Wilmington N.C. on October 20th where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bernard.
