It is with great sadness that the family of Norman Russell Baker, age 77, announces his peaceful passing on December 15, 2025, at Advent Health Hospice in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Norman went to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by care and love.

Born on August 27, 1948, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Norman was the son of the late Elma Davis Baker and Charles Frances Baker. He graduated from Edgewood High School and later earned a degree in Psychology. Norman dedicated much of his professional life to serving others as a counselor, working with recovering addicts and incarcerated teens—roles that reflected his deep compassion and desire to help people find hope and healing.

Norman was known for his kind, fun-loving, and easygoing spirit. With a joyful soul and a warm smile, he never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to put others at ease, accepting everyone just as they were. Always ready for an adventure, he especially enjoyed the beach and being near the water, cars, racing, monster trucks, spending time with his beloved pet bunnies and dancing to a good song.

For the past 18 years, Norman and his wife traveled throughout the contiguous United States and volunteered at numerous Florida state parks. He dedicated more than 17,000 hours of service and received many awards and accolades in recognition of his commitment and generosity.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 29 years, Roxane Baker; daughters Tina (Larry) Stauffer, Sheila (Javan) Reigner, and Heather (Bryan) Eckardt; son Christopher Baker; stepsons Pat (Rebecca), Mim (Alice), and Brian (Nadine); grandsons Owen, Josiah, and Joshua; great-grandson Russell; sisters Kathy (Tom) Herbaugh and Charlene (Jim) McClelland; brother David Baker; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Baker and Charles "Tommy" Baker, and his grandson Javan Patrick Reigner.

Norman's passing leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. The world is undeniably better for having had him in it, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
