Ronald Dawson Murdoch passed from this world into the next on Sunday December 17, 2023, surrounded by the love of his children Tyler and Kate.
Ron was born November 3, 1960, in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada to Joseph Murdoch and Dorothy (Stella) Collins Murdoch. They were a Navy family and moved many times during Ron's youth. The family settled in East Lyme, CT. after Joe's retirement from the Navy. During his senior year he was accepted into West Point Military Academy but was unable to accept his place due to a severe shoulder injury. He then attended Western New England College where he met Rita Temple. They were married in January 1984 in St. Johnsbury, Vt. They lived in Springfield, MA where their children Tyler and Kathryn (Kate) were born. In 1993 they moved to Lyme, NH where Ron returned to school and received his teaching credentials. He then taught in junior high, high school and eventually at the college level.
Ron moved to Florida where he had several faculty positions ending with his position in the Math Department at Valencia College.
Teaching was more than a job for Ron, it was a profession that he loved. But he loved nothing more than Tyler and Kate.
Ron leaves behind his children Tyler (Quin) Murdoch of Bennington, VT, and Kate of St. Cloud, FL; his father Joseph Murdoch of Naples, FL; his brother Randall Murdoch of Hackensack, NJ and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
While Ron traveled a great deal Ruthven, Ontario was always home. A service will be held in the summer at the Collins family reunion on the farm in Ruthven.
