Obituary

Vera-Ellen Kapulak (née Hale), born on April 15, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at the age of 72 in Kissimmee, Florida. Vera-Ellen was a beacon of kindness and strength, touching the lives of all who knew her with her selfless love and resilience.

Vera-Ellen graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan. She dedicated many years of service to the University of Michigan, retiring in 2007. She then joined her daughter and family moving to Florida and lived with them for the rest of her life. She was a constant presence in the lives of her grandsons, sharing countless vacations, sporting events and milestones. She was known to them, and many others, as Gammy.

Her passions included everything Disney, gardening, watching General Hospital for over 60 seasons and traveling. She loved dogs, hibiscus flowers and Coca-Cola. She was friendly and fun, making friends with neighbors and workers at Publix. But her favorite thing was making memories with her daughter, son in law and grandsons, who brought immense joy, love and purpose to her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Kamy Moss; son-in-law, Stephen Moss; grandsons, Ryan and Liam Moss; sisters, Myra Cain and Kim Shoner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. Vera-Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rickey Kapulak; brother, Dennis Hale; and her parents.

A Celebration of Life for Vera-Ellen will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory and legacy. Her life's impact, vibrant personality and the love she shared will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind.
